You cant return Black Beauty's
"Throw out my 42 years on this planet I have never done any drugs except pot. No coke, no pills, nothing. Once I bought some "black beauty's" (remember those?) from a kid while I was in high school but was to scared to take them. When we came back to school on the following Monday I asked the kid that sold them to me if I could get my five bucks back if I gave them back since I didn't take them. It was then I learned that there was a no return policy when it came to drugs."
Random.

Pints, Tea, Mick Jones and Bruce Springsteen
.jpg)
Just got back from London. Had a blast for the 5 days. Pints and Tea all day and I met Mick Jones of The Clash!!!! If I would have been there another day I would have started saying, "What up mate?" and "cheers". The highlight of the trip was Hyde Park on Sunday. The Gaslight Anthem who are all from New Jersey had the privilege of opening for Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band at Hyde Park and Glastonbury (the day before). As Gaslight Anthem took the stage Bruce made his way backstage and asked Brain Fallon of The Gaslight Anthem if he could come out and play the G.L.A. song "The 59 Sound". You could imagine the look on Brian's face! So before you knew it, "The Boss" walks out on stage with G.L.A and proceeds to rip through a killer version of song. The crowd lost it and so did I!!!
Here it is for you to check out. Enjoy.

True Stories and Bad Ideas

(Just cut and paste this link and put it in your browser)
A while ago I was hanging out with a band at Sideonedummy and we were shooting the shit, drinking some beers and telling stories. As the night ended the singer of the band said to me, “I wish you could come on the road with us, just to tell us more of your stories.” The next day I started thinking about what my friend said and I decided to take a few minutes and tape one of my stories. It sounded OK so the next day I taped another and did the same for about 2 weeks. The link you have here is 4 stories about “growing up” in Nor Cal.. Take a listen and if you like it pass it on to someone else you think that might dig it and ask them to do the same. For those of you with kids, do not listen with them! I have a potty mouth. Sorry!!
Enjoy!

Phone calls from Friends
Speaking of Rancid. Did you see them on The Tonight Show last night. Pretty sick stuff. The played "Last One To Die" and delivered the goods. I also talked to Tobe from The Street Dogs who are on tour with Offspring. He called me from Canada and said the tour has been going well except for they had a blow out on their RV which set them back a few hundred bucks. Tobe also mentioned they are writing a new record and want to record it at the beginning of 2010. That is all I have for you today. Now check out Rancid ruling!

I like Fat Mike.
So the Warped Compilation for 2009 is out. This year Fat Mike and El Hefe are on the cover. The photo is pretty sick. Fat Mike had this to say about being on the cover:"Hi everyone, here's what happened: some people at Side One Dummy records asked NOFX to be on the cover of the Warped Tour comp. We said "NO!" . Then they sent over some "Comp"-romising photos from our last trip to Japan that no one really needs to see. So we let them use a picture of me and Hefe for the cover. A week goes by and I get a call from them again. This time they want an unreleased song for the comp. I told them to go to hell. Then they sent over more photos. The next day NOFX went into the studio and recorded a new song for them. They liked it so much they only charged me $10,000 for the remainder of the photos. Thanks guys. You're the best! Fat Mike

Fake Problems can teach you to juggle
Last night Casey Lee, Derek and Sean from Fake Problems all came to Hollywood for a Blink-182 party. It was at this killer Mexican restaurant called "El Compadre" on Sunset Blvd. A ton of people showed up and made the scene. Weezer( who is touring with Blink this summer) was also at the party enjoying the sounds of a mariachi band doing all Blink-182 songs. Seriously, I am not making this up. Mark Hoppus declared that the mariachi band played the Blink songs better than Blink does. I think he might be right, these guys were on fire. The night was full of tequila shots, cervasa's and randomness. Good times! This morning Derek tried to teach me to juggle. As you can see I suck. He say's I have to get through the "wall" but I think it is more than a "wall" stopping me from juggling.
Stay tune for more details.

CCR has a blog, is that lame or cool?
I love Punk Rock. Period. My first show was in 1982 in San Jose California with Social Distortion. From that point on I knew exactly what I was going to do. I wanted to be in a band (Front-Line, WAX and 22Jacks). As I got older I got involved with the D.I.Y. scene. Growing up in Northern California in the earlier 80's was unique time in the sense that alot of kids were putting on their own self promoted concerts(shows), making their own magazines (Fanzines) and most importantly starting their own bands and releasing their own music. Growing up in San Jose put me right in the middle of a great D.I.Y scene. Some of the bands that S.J. gave birth to were Los Olvidados, Ribzy, The Faction, The Stiffs, Mistaken Identity, Executioner and a ton more. During this time there was a radio show on KFJC hosted my Alex Morgan called "Vinyl Rights". Every Thursday night every punker in the Bay Area that could get the signal from the KFJC tower tuned in to "Vinyl Rights" to hear new music, interviews with bands and to find out who was coming to town. My goal with CCR is to be that show for people today. Make sense?
Damn, I wrote way more than I thought I would. En ought for now. Check out this video of The Ramones. Joey's 58th B-day would have been on this Tuesday.
Ramones Forever!!!
